Sania Mirza Predicts About Future Indian Womens Tennis

After her swansong match, Sania Mirza expressed her concern about the future of Indian women’s tennis, stating that she does not foresee an Indian talent emerging at the top of the sport in the near future. However, she is optimistic that this situation can change in the future. Mirza, a former doubles world number one and six-time Grand Slam champion, believes that it might take some time for someone to achieve more than she has in tennis, possibly someone who is currently only five or six years old. At present, the highest-ranked Indian woman in singles is Ankita Raina at 245 in the world, with only one other player, Karman Thandi, in the top 300. Mirza sees herself as a mentor to the younger generation of Indian girls, encouraging them to believe that they can be champions and helping them deal with the mental aspects of the game. She believes that by sharing her experiences, she can contribute to the development of women’s sport in the subcontinent.
