RISE Worldwide, a Reliance-owned sports, lifestyle, and entertainment company in India, has signed promising cricketer Tilak Varma to its talent roster. Varma becomes the eighth cricketer on RISE’s list, which includes Indian cricket’s leading names such as Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya. RISE will handle Varma’s brand image positioning and all commercial engagements, including brand partnerships/endorsements, social media monetization, and licensing.
RISE aims to identify and nurture potential raw talent in the brand universe and create strategic brand journeys for marquee names in Indian sports with a 360-degree approach. Varma said that he feels excited and honored to join the RISE Worldwide Talent team and focus on cricket without worrying about his commercial and brand management.
RISE’s Head of Sponsorship Sales and Talent, Nikhil Bardia, stated that the company’s focus will be to identify unique opportunities and align with innovative, forward-thinking partners to grow Varma’s brand. Varma made his Ranji Trophy debut for Hyderabad in 2018 and was part of the U-19 World Cup, where India made it to the final. He impressed fans and experts alike by amassing close to 400 runs in his debut IPL season in 2022 and continued his exploits in the 2023 season. In the IPL 2023 opening game, he scored a swashbuckling 46-ball 84 and played a key innings in Mumbai Indians’ win against Delhi Capitals.
