On Sunday, Rajasthan Royals began their IPL 2023 campaign with a convincing 72-run win against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Yuzvendra Chahal’s fantastic bowling performance led to SRH being limited to 131/8 in 20 overs while chasing a target of 204 runs. Earlier, RR had set a formidable target of 203/5 in 20 overs, with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson all scoring half-centuries. Jaiswal scored 54 runs off 37 balls, Buttler smashed 54 off just 22 deliveries, and Samson clattered 55 off 32 deliveries. Fazalhaq Farooqi and T Natarajan took two wickets each for SRH, but their efforts were not enough to stop RR from winning the match.
