Mumbai Indians have secured their spot in the WPL 2023 final after defeating UP Warriorz by 72 runs in the Eliminator match played at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. UPW were bowled out for 110 in 17.4 overs while chasing a target of 183 runs, with Kiran Navgire being the only notable performer scoring 43 runs off 27 balls. Issy Wong claimed four wickets for MI, including a hat-trick, while Saika Ishaque took two dismissals. In response, MI posted 182/4 in 20 overs, with Nat Sciver-Brunt’s unbeaten knock of 72 runs off 38 balls being the highlight. UP Warriorz’s Sophie Ecclestone, who took two wickets, is currently leading the race for the Purple Cap. MI’s victory in the Eliminator match has earned them a place in the final, where they will face Delhi Capitals.
