Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) outplayed Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their IPL 2023 clash in Jaipur, clinching a 10-run victory on Wednesday. While chasing a target of 155, RR’s opening batsmen, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal, built a steady partnership of 87 runs. However, Marcus Stoinis dismissed Jaiswal for 44(35), leading to a batting collapse that turned the tide in favor of LSG.
In the end, Avesh Khan’s impressive final over, where he picked up two wickets and conceded just 8 runs, sealed the win for Lucknow as Rajasthan fell short at 144/6 in 20 overs. Earlier, R Ashwin and Trent Boult had bowled well, limiting LSG to 154/7 after being put to bat first. Ashwin took two wickets while giving away 23 runs in his four overs, and Boult conceded only 16 runs and picked up a wicket in his quota. Kyle Mayers top-scored with a half-century, but his slow scoring rate affected LSG’s total.
