India to Host 2023 ICC World Cup in October-November, Rohit Sharma to Lead Team India

India is set to host the 2023 edition of the ICC World Cup in October-November, with the tournament likely to commence on October 5. India, who won the World Cup in 1983 and 2011, will be led by Rohit Sharma in the upcoming event.

The World Cup is set to be a 46-day long event, with 48 ODIs scheduled to be played across 12 venues in the country, including the world’s largest cricket stadium – the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, there has been a delay in the schedule due to issues regarding tax exemptions and visa clearance for the Pakistan team.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has, however, assured the ICC that the Indian government will clear the visas for the Pakistan team. Defending champions England, who won their maiden 50-over World Cup title in 2019, will be among the contenders for the trophy.
